Outline of the Program

The program provides educators in overseas institutions with the opportunity to acquire useful knowledge and information about Korea, including its history and culture, through first-hand experience.

Eligible Applicants

History and Social Studies teachers at a secondary school, school administrators and textbook publishers overseas.

Length of the Workshop

10 days

Financial Aid

Expenses for hosting the workshop and inviting the participants (Travel, accommodation, meal and incidental expenses) (Some of the expenses will be covered by overseas partner institutions.)

Program Highlights

  • Lectures about politics, history, education, economy and culture in Korea;
  • Visits to cultural heritage sites and industrial facilities in Seoul and elsewhere in the country;
  • Experiential activities to learn about Korean culture such as homestays, traditional Korean dress tryouts, and attendance at traditional performances;
  • Informal meetings with Korean educators at Korean secondary schools.

Selection of Participants

Participants are selected by overseas partner institutions.
