Home SIGNATURE PROGRAM KF Assembly
Event Objective
▪ Since its inception in 1991, the Korea Foundation (KF) has implemented a variety of global exchange activities to promote a proper recognition and understanding of Korea among the international community.
▪ In particular, the KF extends support to Korean Studies programs for the establishment of Korean Studies/Korean Language Professorships, and the implementation of Korean Studies-related academic activities, along with offering assistance for Korea-related academic associations, fellowship programs, and Korean Studies workshops for foreign educators. (As of the 2010 year-end, the KF extended support to 987 fellows from 75 countries for field research in Korea, as well as for the establishment of 100 Korean Studies faculty positions at 69 universities in 12 countries.)
▪ To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the KF is hosting the “2011 Korea Foundation Assembly” gathering, which includes the participation of professors serving in Foundation-supported positions, directors of Korean Studies Centers, and relevant scholars/specialists, to discuss future-oriented proposals and to build networks between Korea-related scholars worldwide.
