“Friendship Diary” – The 3rd ASEAN Culture House Photo & Video Contest Exhibition

In September, the “Friendship Diary” exhibition opened at the ACH, introducing outstanding works of the “The 3rd ASEAN Culture House Photo & Video Contest.” The concept of the exhibition is that of a diary shared by friends who take turns writing about their daily lives. In the exhibition room, photos and videos of the ASEAN region and Korea harmoniously unfold in front of you like a page in a friendship diary. 

   Visitors will be able to see entries for the contest as well as works by Busan-based photographer Lee Donggeun and artist Hwang Inji. They present works that shed light on the voices of ASEAN people in Korea, including female marriage migrants, migrant workers, and international students, from the perspective of the artists. The exhibition runs until the end of November at the Special Exhibition Gallery of the ACH. 

   Every artwork on display shows everyday people from different ethnical backgrounds to help viewers realize that those who may seem foreign are, in fact, your neighbors who are not all that different. This fall, we invite you to explore the beauty of people’s everyday lives at the ASEAN Culture House.
