Pacific Council 직무
Membership: 제가 맡은 Water Initiative outreach research project의 research 부분을 약 3주간 진행한뒤 Membership dept superior과 진행속도와 방향을 review하고 수정하는 등 project management에 대해 익히고 있습니다.
Development: foundation과 grant giving에 관한 이해를 높히기 위해 Development 부서 직원들과 CCS에서 주관한 ‘Perspectives on Philanthropy’라는 행사를 참석하였습니다. 또한 내년에 있을 행사를 위해 foundations research와 grant application 작성 등 grants와 관련된 업무를 많이 배우고 있습니다.
Pacific Council 활동
Events: 5월 24일 Council of Korean Americans 와 Ploughshares Fund 에서 공동 주관한 ‘Public Discussion on North Korea’에 참석하였습니다. 6월 8일에는 Executive Director of Asia Society So Cal의 초청으로 ‘Candles and Umbrellas: Protest Movements and Politics in South Korea and Hong Kong’에 참석, 6월 19일에는 PC 행사인 ‘Iran in Transition: Elections, Trump, and the Nuclear Deal’에 참여하였습니다.
Public Discussion on North Korea with Amb. Wendy Sherman, former Chief Negotiator of the Iran Deal
Activities: 4월 24일부터 30일동안 PC 직원들과 함께 Ab Challenge를 하고 마지막 30일에는 다같이 lunch potluck을 하였습니다. 30일을 다 채운 사람은 없었지만 재밌고 동기부여가 되는 챌린지 였습니다. 6월 16일에는 전 직원이 오후 3시에 일을 마친 뒤 Vice President의 집에 가서 Second Annual Staff BBQ를 즐겼습니다.
Lunch Potluck
개인 연구
PC Supervisor와 상의 후에 7월 말에 staff presentation, 그리고 8월 초에 베넷박사님과 몇몇 분들을 초대해서 formal presentation을 하기로 하였습니다. 베넷박사님께서 잘 지도를 해주신 덕분에 Introduction, literature review, and theoretical framework 섹션 initial draft를 끝냈고 현재는 theoretical framework 보안과 analysis를 진행하고 있습니다.
