Openings for Visiting Professors of Korean Language/Studies

Openings for Visiting Professors of Korean Language/Studies

The Korea Foundation is recruiting visiting professors who will offer Korean language and/or Korean Studies courses at universities abroad. Since 2004, the Foundation has been dispatching scholars as visiting professors to universities in countries where there is a serious lack of qualified lecturers to provide Korea-related courses to local students. In 2014, the Foundation's program plans to assign 46 KF visiting professors to 41 universities in 33 countries around the world. For this round of recruitment, seven visiting professors will be selected to lecture at seven universities: Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia; the University of Tehran, Iran; Malaga University, Spain; and the Free University of Tbilisi, Georgia; for Korean language courses. And Ain Shams University, Egypt (Korean literature); the National University of La Plata, Argentina (political studies/international relations); and the University of Delhi, India (economics). In addition to conducting Korean language and Korean Studies courses at universities in regions where these fields are not well established, the KF visiting professors will play a vital role in laying the groundwork for Korean Studies by organizing events and activities related to Korea and providing assistance for the eventual formation of Korean Studies departments or programs. Candidates who are interested in promoting Korean Studies abroad are encouraged to apply. For additional details, please refer to the recruitment announcement on the Foundation's website (www.kf.or.kr).
