KF Celebrates 30th Anniversary with 2021 KF World Cinema Week

From June 18 through July 1, the KF will hold its 2021 World Cinema Week in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the organization’s founding. The KF World Cinema Week is one of three events in 2021 through which the Korea Foundation aims to enhance people’s understanding of the world through movies. The festival is preceded by the 2nd ASEAN Cinema Week, which was held from March 12 to 25, and the Central Asian Spring Festival, Nowruz in Seoul, which also included film screenings and was held from March 19 to April 3.

The opening ceremony for the event will take place at Community House Masil in Myeongdong on June 18, and film screenings are set to be held at Seoul Art Cinema on June 19 and 20.

To commemorate its 30th anniversary, the KF will show 30 films from around the world. Movies from ASEAN and Central Asian countries, as well as from Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, France, Greece, Guatemala, Paraguay, Sweden, Turkey, and Peru will be shown.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to render international travel difficult, KF World Cinema Week offers participants a chance to travel the globe through film. Detailed information is available at www.kfworldcinemaweek.or.kr.
