On July 6-10, the KF conducted a workshop program at Kyung Hee University to enhance the expertise of professors who are being dispatched abroad to serve as visiting professors. The program is designed to provide these professors with the basic knowledge and expertise necessary to contribute to the globalization of Korean language education and Korean Studies. Workshop attendees not only reinforced their knowledge of Korean language education but also attended indepth lectures on a variety of subjects outside their field of specialization, including the reunification of Korea, Korea’s domestic economy, and the Korean Wave phenomenon, thereby expanding their range and depth of knowledge. The KF intends to dispatch 51 professors to 50 universities in 38 countries. It is hoped that the KF professors can help to upgrade the status of Korean Studies to a higher level by educating students around the world about the universal values that Korea advocates for the benefit of the global community.
