Malaysia’s Traditional Song, “Pantun Budi”

“Pantun Budi” is a popular Malaysian song performed by the singer S.M. Salim, where it has become indispensable at festivals, weddings, and celebrations among the country’s large Muslim population. The song features two unique instruments, the gambus and rebana, that lend it calm and refreshing melodies. If you’re curious about this beautiful piece of music, scan the QR code. Gambus The pear-shaped gambus is lute-like instrument used to play melodies. The 12 strings are plucked with a pick, and it is especially suited to perform funky and upbeat sounds.

Rebana A rebana is a one-sided percussion instrument. Because it covers high and low pitches, it is great for playing traditional Malaysian music that spans a wide range of notes.
