‘Global Hallyu 2019’ Published

Since 2012, the KF and the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade have cooperated to annually publish Global Hallyu. This report collects and analyzes data and information on the current status of Hallyu, the Korean Wave of popular culture, around the world. The newest edition, Global Hallyu 2019, includes details on Hallyu clubs and members in 98 different countries. As of December 2019, membership in these clubs hovered around 100 million, a rise of 11 percent from the previous year’s 89.19 million members. The report sheds light on Hallyu as it reaches a period of stability along with qualitative and quantitative growth. Global Hallyu 2019 is designed to help domestic and foreign art, cultural, and Hallyu industry organizations and insiders as they chart strategic business directions and engage in policy-making.
