KF Hosts Marcin Ryczek Photo Exhibition in Seoul

From March 18 to 24, the KF and the Embassy of Poland in Korea jointly present Harmony, an exhibition of works by Polish photographer Marcin Ryczek, at the KF Gallery in Seoul.

A native of Lublin, Poland, Ryczek earned international acclaim after his photograph A Man Feeding Swans in the Snow, taken from the Grunwald Bridge in Kraków, was featured alongside four other works in the HuffPost’s article “2013’s Most Striking Fine Art Photography.” The photo has since been admitted to the collections of the National Library of France in Paris and the Silesian Museum in Katowice, Poland. The powerful black-and-white image features a dark silhouette of a man against a white, snowy riverbank alongside white swans and dark-colored ducks atop the water; the photographer’s trademark simplicity and contrast stimulates viewers’ imagination while encouraging deep contemplation.

Harmony is Ryczek’s first solo exhibition in Korea and features 35 of his photographic works, including the photo that made him widely known outside the art world. Through the exhibition, visitors will not only be able to appreciate Ryczek’s characteristic geometric composition and unique approach to capturing seemingly mundane moments, but also enjoy an artist talk and several other events. For detailed information, please visit the KF’s official website (www.kf.or.kr).
