Spring Issue of ‘Koreana’ Highlights the Housing in Korea

The large-scale apartment complexes that form the urban landscape of Korea are an unfamiliar and interesting topic for foreigners.

The spring issue of Koreana, the KF’s comprehensive Korean arts and culture quarterly, expounds on a wide variety of residential spaces and the values of the people living within them, from the apartments that account for more than 60 percent of all Korean housing to the shared houses that aim to restore their communities and the traditional Korean hanok houses being reborn today with modern functionality. Also featured are Korean and Polish stage productions, both based on Han Kang’s novel "The Boy is Coming;" singer Lee Hee-moon and the experimental music he creates; and Ki Soon-do, a soy sauce master who has been producing this staple ingredient of Korean cuisine for nearly 50 years. The Koreana spring issue is available online at www.koreana.or.kr.
