[Infographic] Where does Korea stand in terms of digital competitiveness?

Nations around the world engage in an intensifying competition to take the lead in the digital revolution. Almost all Korean households have high-speed internet connections, and wireless network protocols are available across the country. So where does Korea stand in terms of global digital competitiveness? According to the World Digital Competitiveness Ranking 2019 by the Swiss International Institute for Management Development (IMD), Korea moved up four ranks last year and became the 10th most powerful country in the field of digital competitiveness, its highest ranking to date. The IMD rankings are computed annually by taking into account three factors—knowledge, technology, and future readiness. Korea ranked 11th in the knowledge category, 17th in technology, and 4th in future readiness. Despite the disparities across these different factors, the development of Korea’s digital competitiveness seems undeniable.
