For six months from September last year, the KF and Korean At Your Door (KAYD) conducted Korean language contribution activities overseas. KAYD is a social enterprise that provides one-on-one Korean language services by phone and video communication.

The social contribution activities were carried out until February under a KF-KAYD agreement to promote multifarious access routes to Korean language education for students majoring in the language at overseas universities. The endeavor also sought to increase employment opportunities at KAYD for people with visual disabilities. A total of 158 students from six universities in three countries took part in the phone and video Korean language services. The schools were the VNU University of Languages and International Studies and the VNU Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Viet Nam; Indonesia University of Education and Gadjah Mada University in Indonesia; and Moscow State University and the National Research University Higher School of Economics in Russia.

Students who participated in the online classes said that the one-on-one services were a big help in improving their Korean language skills. Many of them said the 30-minute classes felt short because they were so much fun.

The KF will continue to conduct Korean language social contribution activities this year, and hopes for increasing interest and support.
