The safest country in the world is Iceland, according to a recent report by Global Finance. Referring to the Global Peace Index, the magazine reported that Korea was ranked 17th among the 163 countries featured.

The Global Peace Index reflects diverse factors including war and peace, personal security, and risk of natural disaster. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the report added COVID-19 scores measuring the death and vaccination rates in each country. These scores were derived from data as of May 30, 2021, though credible figures could not be gathered in China, Tanzania, and Venezuela, the magazine revealed.
