South Korea Ranked Seventh in Global AI Index

South Korea ranked seventh in the Global AI Index measured by Tortoise Media in 62 countries around world. The British news website’s Tortoise Intelligence team ranked each of the 62 countries according to a given score, with first place being assigned 100 points. The United States topped the list. Second place went to China with 62.92 points, followed by the United Kingdom (40.93), Canada (40.19), Israel (38.89), and Singapore (38. 67), respectively.

The Global AI Index examined the AI capabilities of the selected countries in terms of implementation, innovation, and investment. Scores were assigned according to 143 indicators that were divided into the following categories: Talent, Infrastructure, Operating Environment, Research, Development, Government Strategy, and Commercial. Korea scored highest in Government Strategy and Infrastructure but earned low scores in the Commercial and Talent categories.
