Meeting of Overwhelming Friendship

The Korean Culture Class met on September 23 and hosted eight students from Seoul Community Rehabilitation Center at a traditional Hanok house in Seoul's Bukchon Hanok Village.
Also attending were international volunteers from 10 countries including Hungary, France, Croatia, Australia, and Indonesia. After a warm-up session, the students took part in programs such as drawing the national flag of each country and creating Korean folk paintings on eco-friendly tote bags. Afterwards, they wrote letters to each other and presented gifts. Curiosity about the mysterious unknown hung in the air throughout the meeting, with participants drawing the activities to a close over a hearty dinner.
The day held special meaning for Ramona from Hungary and Yunji from Korea. The two had previously met during Ramona's prior visit to Korea in spring 2016, and the class allowed the pair to reunite for the first time in more than a year, their friendship having transcended the barriers of space and time, as well as their language and cultural differences.
