Korea-China Conference marking the 100th Anniversary of the Korean Provisional Government in Shanghai

A Korea-China conference celebrating the centennial of the Korean Provisional Government will be held in Shanghai, China, on February 26, co-hosted by the KF, the Korean Political Science Association of Korea, the Sungkyun Institute of China Studies, Center of Korean Studies and Institute of International Studies of Fudan University, and Shanghai Institute of Korean Studies.
Under the broader theme of “The 100-year journey towards modernity and seeking a new peace regime,” three sessions will be held on “Independence demonstrations of the March First Movement and the Provisional Government in the international context,” “The Provisional Government as a prototype of Korean democracy,” and “The possibility of a peace regime in Northeast Asia.” In each section, more than 30 scholars of the two countries will shed new light on the meaning of the Korean Provisional Government in the international context and review its contemporary significance as the prototype of Korean democracy. The participants will also discuss prospects for establishing a system of peace and co-prosperity in Northeast Asia.
