‘Welcome to Hyunamdong Bookstore’

Welcome to Hyunamdong Bookstore is a novel set in a typical neighborhood of alleys in Seoul. It revolves around Yeong-ju, the owner of an ordinary bookstore opened in an alley full of ordinary households, and the people who come to her shop.

For this book, author Hwang Bo-reum was awarded the Brunch Book E-Book Publishing Project Prize. After it was released on the e-book platform Millie’s Library, readers demanded that it be published as a print book, which has come out recently. The book’s beautiful front cover reflects its pages full of warmth, with scenes from the neighborhood bookstore, kind and caring characters, and sympathetic words that readers will want to keep in their hearts.

Hwang has said that she wanted to write about people who seek their own speed and direction in life—those who trust and give time to themselves.
