Which dishes are particularly popular at must try restaurants in the ASEAN region? The annual ASEAN Cooking Class, the most popular and longest-running program of the ASEAN Culture House (ACH), is back with the tasting and cooking of dishes from the 10 ASEAN member states.

From May to July, the “2022 ASEAN Cooking Class” will introduce a host of delicious dishes from the 10 ASEAN countries, including Thailand, whose capital topped CNN’s 2018 rankings of the world’s best cities for street food as well as Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, and Myanmar, whose cuisines are delicious but hard to find at restaurants in Korea.

To mark Family Month in May, the ACH will also open an “ASEAN Cooking Class with Families -– A Spoonful of ASEAN” to teach children from ASEAN and Korean families how to prepare easy-to-make ASEAN snacks, including Brunei-styled chicken with sauce and Philippine-styled fried banana, and allow them to explore Southeast Asian culinary culture.

From May 13, applications to attend the classes can be submitted on the ACH website (www.ach.or.kr), which provides further details about the programs. We hope all applicants will have an opportunity to experience and better understand ASEAN’s culinary cultures through the “2022 ASEAN Cooking Class.”
