In September, the ASEAN Culture House held the ‘Easy Access Philippines’ program in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Korea. Through a ‘ASEAN Travel Workshop ─ the Philippines’ travel journalist Park Ae-jin introduced some of the country’s must-see spots while providing cultural insight and an ideal course for would-be travelers.
Meanwhile, children were invited to craft parols (traditional Philippine Christmas lanterns) in a cultural experience that showed off the Philippine custom of beginning the Christmas season in September. In a cooking program for adults, participants made a beef stew called caldereta and sweet banana lumpia (also known as turon). Many other cultural experience programs were held at the ‘Philippine Culture Play Zone’ and the ‘ASEAN Kids’ Cafe,’ all to help visitors enjoy diverse aspects of Philippine culture with family.
