In celebration of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Philippines-Korea diplomatic relations and the Centennial Year of Philippine Cinema, the ASEAN Culture House hosted the ‘Philippine Film Festival’ from Friday, September 20 – Sunday, September 22. The three-day event was held in conjunction with the Embassy of the Republic of Philippines in Korea and the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP).
The ‘Philippine Film Festival’ screened five films that present the history and culture of Filipino cinema, including Trap (Taklub), which won a special mention from the Ecumenical Jury at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. The event promoted the positive relationship between Korea and the Philippines and gave the audience a better understanding of the history and culture of the Philippines through cinema.
