2021 KF Public Diplomacy Projects Selects Winners and Holds Online Inauguration

To strengthen Korea’s public diplomacy potential and promote a general awareness of diplomacy, the KF’s “Public Diplomacy Projects” initiative selects and supports projects designed by teams of volunteers.

In May, 15 teams were selected for the 2021 initiative. In consideration of the global COVID-19 pandemic, participants submitted their project ideas online through the initiative’s public contest. Many extraordinary and creative ideas were submitted.

As a safety measure in accordance with the Korean government’s social distancing guidelines, video interviews replaced the usual face-to-face interviews. The 15 winning teams were then chosen and inaugurated in an online ceremony on May 29.

Just like last year, despite many difficulties and limitations the pandemic may bring to the activities carried out by the selected teams, they are expected to find creative ways to put their ideas into action. The KF extends its deepest appreciation to everyone who took part in the contest and hopes for their continued interest in future KF programs.
