[The World in Korea]Venice Land — Jeju’s City of Water
A “second Venice” that brings the sights and sounds of the Italian
”city of water” to the beautiful island of Jeju, Venice Land is a
place where visitors can enjoy a European getaway without going
abroad.
Every year, visitors flock to Venice Land’s scenic theme park, World
Ethnic Museum, and artificial waterway complete with gondolas. On a
leisurely gondola ride — recommended by previous visitors as the
park’s top attraction — passengers can see Korea’s largest artificial
forest, plus a waterfall and exquisite garden on both sides of the
waterway. The carp swimming amongst the boats will have you feeling as
if you were truly in Venice. One of the best ways of appreciating
Venice Land is having your photograph taken in the photo zone with
various illusory backgrounds, including one that transports visitors
to the Rialto Bridge in Venice.
The World Ethnic Museum not only offers a fun and eye-catching
collection of handcrafts by various indigenous peoples from around the
globe, but also enables visitors to learn about and experience the
lifestyles and cultures unique to different indigenous groups.
