Pontone Gallery, located in central London, has long been introducing
Korean artists to the city’s art community. For over ten years,
Pontone has brought new and established contemporary Korean artists to
the attention of the global art scene.
The gallery has served as a stage for Korean fine and performance
artists to showcase their work, offering opportunities regardless of
genre and without prejudice toward age or status within the art
community.
In January and February 2021, as galleries around the world continued
to suffer from difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Pontone
showed unwavering support for Korean artists by presenting the group
exhibition South Korean Contemporary Art, featuring the works of Choi
Soowhan, Hong Sungchul, Hwang Seontae, Mari Kim, Lee Jungwoong, and
Lee Leenam. Pontone Gallery’s support for Korean artists is hoped to
continue in the years ahead.
