Spain Bookshop, located in Toegyero in the heart of Seoul, is Korea’s only bookstore that specializes in the arts and culture of the Spanish-speaking world.

The bookshop’s owner is said to have founded the store with the intent to bring Spain into their home as they could not move to the country itself. Perhaps to this end, the bookshop introduces and sells books on Spain and parts of Central and South America, books written in Spanish, and many other books, big and small, that the owner chooses to stock. Diverse cultural events and meetings turn the shop into an even more special and exciting space.

The store also facilitates a community of people who are interested in the literature, cinema, and architecture of Spanish-speaking countries. Starting from the latter half of 2020, the bookstore has reached out to those who cannot stop by in person via its podcast, Spain Bookshop Radio: #603 on the Fifth Floor.
