With support from the Foreign Affairs Ministries of Korea and China, the KF and China’s Communist Youth League conducted the 2016 Korea–China Youth Leaders Forum in Jeju on May 22–26. Headed by Fu Zhenbang, Secretariat of the Communist Youth League, the visiting delegation was composed of 100 young leaders from China’s political, economic, and social sectors. During their stay in Korea, the delegation visited the Presidential Committee on the Younger Generation and the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family to learn about Korea’s policy measures to support Korean youth. They also visited the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy and Innovation to learn about Korea’s policy initiatives to implement bold economic reforms. In addition, they attended the Korea–China Economic Seminar, co-hosted by the KF and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), where they discussed measures to enhance economic cooperation, and visited Sungkyunkwan University to learn about the school’s programs for student-led startups and employment assistance.
  Of note, Secretariat Fu discussed measures to promote mutual prosperity with key Korean leaders, such as KF President Sihyung Lee, Chairman Park Yong-ho of the Presidential Committee on the Younger Generation, Jeju Governor Won Hee-ryong, Acting Secretary General Hong Moon-pyo of the Saenuri Party, Assemblyman Kim Young-ho of the Minjoo Party, Vice Minister Kwon Yong-hyun of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, President Kwon Byong-hyon of Future Forest, and President Chung Kyu-sang of Sungkyunkwan University.
  Launched in 2015 as part of an agreement reached during the Korea–China Summit of July 2014, the Korea–China Youth Leaders Forum gathers 100 youth leaders from Korea and China every year and sends them to visit each other’s countries. The purpose of this exchange program is to enhance Korea–China relations by encouraging younger leaders to discuss key issues that are of interest to both countries. As a reciprocal measure, a delegation of 100 Korean youth leaders is scheduled to visit China in September.
