Special Training Session and Open Workshop:
Starting As a Global Citizen

On a drizzly July day foretelling the coming rainy season, the Education and Publicity Team conducted the 83rd Training Session consisting of a special class and an open workshop. In previous years, the orientation was carried out in the KF Center Seminar Room, but on this occasion it was held at a new venue with training session participants as well as members of the KFVN (Korea Foundation Volunteer Network) in attendance.
In the first session, the teams and members of the KFVN were introduced, and in the second, special lectures were given under the theme of “Starting As a Global Citizen.” The speakers were Jo Chun-sam, a member of the KFVN Korean Culture Class and assistant professor of Chung-Ang University, who spoke on “Ways of Talking to Strangers,” and Danton Ford, professor of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy, who lectured on “Speaking Confidently Before People.”
After the lectures, KFVN members were divided into small groups and engaged in discussions about what they had learned. They also had the opportunity to test themselves by speaking before the group. The training session and workshop were a wonderful opportunity for the KFVN members and training session participants to come together in the spirit of friendship and learning.
