‘Koreana’ Summer Issue Highlights Rocks of Jeju Island

The summer issue of Koreana, the Korean culture and arts quarterly, features the basalt rocks of Jeju Island. The magazine offers insight into the intimate bond between the residents and basalt, the rock blanketing much of the island, and expounds on how the volcanic mineral has shaped the lives of the people across generations.
Other pages shed light on Lee Kwang-ho, the Korean designer taking the global fashion scene by storm; Yakult ladies, the local yogurt vendors who have become the smiling faces of their communities; and Welcome, First Time in Korea?, a popular Korean reality television show.
