KF Invitation Program for Distinguished Guests in Diplomacy, Security & Education Fields

Forty-seven foreign dignitaries and experts will visit Korea in April on the KF’s Invitation Program for Distinguished Guests. The participants will be divided into two delegations. The first, visiting from April 7–13, shall consist of 19 diplomacy and security figures from 18 countries; while the second, visiting from April 21–27, shall consist of 26 noted figures in the field of education from 25 countries.
  The first group will include Francisco Chiriboga, Subsecretary, Minstry of Defense, Ecuador; Bridget Coggins, an adjunct fellow and Korea Chair at the US Center for Strategicand International Studies (CSIS); and Rana Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Bahrain Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The guests will pay visits to related organizations and discuss diplomatic and security issues with Korean specialists.
  The second group of guests includes the President of the University of San Carlos of Guatemala, where hundreds of students enroll in Korean language classes every year; the Vice President of the Autonomous University of Madrid, which adopted Korean Studies as a course subject for the first time this year; and a Dean of the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, where talks are underway to introduce regular faculty to the Department of Korean Studies. The dignitaries from prestigious universities will meet experts at major Korean educational institutions and seek ways of expanding exchange between Korea and their respective schools as they strive to advance Korean language and Korean Studies education.
