2020 Korea-ASEAN Public Policy Symposium & Workshop

2019 Korea-ASEAN Special Workshop on Public Policy Reform

The KF and the University of New South Wales in Australia have joined hands in building a community to promote exchange and cooperation between Korea and eight members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) through comparative research and the application of best practices.

On December 2–4, an international symposium will be held in Hanoi, Viet Nam, to enable vice minister-level officials and academics from the nine countries to share the results of their research. On December 17–19, a special regional workshop in Bangkok, Thailand, will offer another opportunity to exchange information, provide feedback on the symposium, and deliver presentations on research and the application of best practices.

Considering the difficulties where overseas traveling is concerned, due to COVID-19, the symposium and workshop will be held both online and offline. The meetings will particularly deal with governmental capabilities for COVID-19 prevention and quarantines, and economic countermeasures to overcome the pandemic crisis. Participants are expected to reaffirm their common belief that policy cooperation is pivotal among ASEAN countries where mutual exchange is vigorous, and that global cooperation needs to be further expanded.
