The Korean Culture Class and World Activity Class
Battle the Summer Heat
[Korean Culture Class] Amid the unrelenting swelter of August, members of the Korean Culture Class, who are known for their exceptional teamwork, attended their summer workshop event. It was a kind of vacation reward for the passionate team of volunteers who are always ready to contribute in spite of their busy personal lives. Over the course of two days, they shopped together, played in water to cool off, and discussed details for the Korean Culture Classroom’s upcoming 10th anniversary celebration in November. Although the members hail from a diverse range of countries, including the U.S., Egypt, India, Georgia, and Korea, we have become a family of “us,” while developing a newfound appreciation for all the experiences we’ve shared together. May the Korean Culture Classroom continue to prosper!
[World Activity Class] During a weekend in August, the World Activity Class held its 2016 summer workshop. Following a training orientation, the workshop attendees toured the areas of Buam-dong and Seochon in Seoul, discussed events they’d organized thus far, and presented their plans for the remainder of the year. They offered a variety of perspectives that even extended to plans for 2017. To cap off their gathering, they visited the former residence of the late artist Ku Bon-woong. Everybody smiled and was friendly to each other, despite the unpleasant heat, making for a meaningful event.
