KF Korea Workshop and Theme Trips for International Residents
In an effort to create more favorable perceptions of Korea’s diplomatic priorities among the international community, the Korea Foundation actively administers the Next-Generation Policy Experts Program. While the original initiative in 2015 had been focused on key foreign-policy institutes in the United States, Europe, ASEAN, and Oceania, the program’s scope has been expanded in 2016 to include Japan, Russia, and China, in line with mid- and long-term goals to foster a global network of policy experts with an in-depth understanding of Korea’s diplomatic interests.
To publicize Korea’s perspective and stance on East Asia-related issues and to build consensus on matters of mutual interest, the KF has organized and implemented 14 regional projects in 2016. In November, another three Next-Generation Policy Experts Network sessions are scheduled, to bring together relevant specialists from the United States, China, and the ASEAN region. Each regional program includes a local session and Korea-study tour, which will help to enhance the knowledge of pro-Korea advocates and to strengthen collaborative efforts through the expansion of personal friendships and networks.
