KF Korea Workshop and Theme Trips for International Residents
In an effort to more favorable perceptions of Korea’s diplomatic priorities among the international community, the Korea Foundation actively administers the Next-Generation Policy Experts Program. While the original initiative in 2015 had been focused on key foreign-policy institutes in the United States, Europe, ASEAN, and Oceania, the program’s scope has been expanded in 2016 to include Japan, Russia, and China, in line with mid- and long-term goals to foster a global network of policy experts with an in-depth understanding of Korea’s diplomatic interests.
To publicize Korea’s perspective and stance on East Asia-related issues and to build consensus on matters of mutual interest, the KF has organized and implemented 14 regional projects in 2016. In November, another three Next-Generation Policy Experts Network sessions are scheduled, to bring together relevant specialists from the United States, China, and the ASEAN region. Each regional program includes a local session and Korea-study tour, which will help to enhance the knowledge of pro-Korea advocates and to strengthen collaborative efforts through the expansion of personal friendships and networks.
