A New Beginning and a Look Back at the Past Year

It has already been one year since the Planning and Event Team was relaunched as the World Activity Class and began undertaking activities with new resolve. Over the past year, many foreign volunteers and local children have participated in various events. The World Activity Class decided to take time to congratulate the volunteers on their hard work in 2016 and welcome the New Year with a renewed determination.
About 20 local and foreign volunteers met at a small café by Guui Station and spent some time reviewing the activities of the last year. A total of seven “Meeting the World in Korea” events were held between January and November of 2016. Team members, who are from various parts of the world including Germany, Morocco, Vietnam, the United States, Spain, Sweden, Jordan, and Peru, met with Korean children to share their respective cultures. Looking at the photos from the events, it was clearly evident that the World Activity Class team and volunteers had worked very hard over the past year.
In addition to enjoying refreshments, the team members engaged in some light games to get to know one another better and thereby strengthen teamwork. The mixed use of English and Korean in the explanation of the games and slapstick humor by some of the team members provided everyone with a lively time of fun and relaxation.
We hope that the children and volunteers from Korea and abroad who participated in “Meeting the World in Korea” in 2017 will be able to share their hopes and dreams, as expressed in the slogan of the World Activity Class “Big Hope, Big Dream Project.”
More information on this year’s activities can be found at the World Activity Class Facebook page (www.facebook.com/Kfvneventteam).
