KF 26th Anniversary Winter Concert The KF will commemorate the 26th anniversary of its founding with a winter concert on December 6 at Lotte Concert Hall. With 26 years of Seoul-based activities now drawing to a close, the KF will begin a new chapter in Seogwipo on Jeju Island next year, with the upcoming concert a token of appreciation to all the people who have encouraged and supported the KF over its journey thus far. Playing to the tune of Maestro Jang Yoonsung’s baton, the KBS Symphony Orchestra will present Krzysztof Penderecki’s Symphony No. 5, “Korea,” which the Polish-born world-acclaimed composer wrote in 1992 upon the request of the Korean government, in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the nation’s liberation from colonial rule in the early 20th century. The piece was premiered on National Liberation Day in 1992. The repertoire will also include Shostakovich’s Festive Overture and Brahms’s Double Concerto, making the event a festival of rich music flavor. Application Period: 11/27 2 p.m.–11/30 6 p.m. How to apply: Visit the KF homepage (www.kf.or.kr), go to “KF Global Center,” then click on “Ongoing Program.” Successful applicants will be announced from 3 p.m. on December 1
