The 26th Korea-Japan Forum

The 26th Korea-Japan Forum will be held on August 20–22 in Tokyo, Japan, co-sponsored by the KF and the Japan Center for International Exchange. Under the theme of “Reconstruction of ‘Future Orientation’ on the 20th Anniversary of the Republic of Korea-Japan Joint Declaration,” the forum will deal with trends related to the issue of the denuclearization of North Korea and the roles of South Korea and Japan, retrospect and prospects for bilateral relations on the 20th anniversary of the joint declaration, and resolving common challenges for Korean and Japanese society through cooperation. Established in 1993 on the occasion of the Korea-Japan summit, the forum has been held every year alternating between the two neighbors. As in the past, this year’s forum will be attended by prominent parliamentarians, businessmen, journalists, and academics. The participants will produce a joint policy proposal at the conclusion of the meeting.
