Invitation of H.E. Valdis Zatlers - former president of Latvia

Former Latvian President Valdis Zatlers will visit Korea on October 7–13 with the KF Invitation Program for Distinguished Guests. Zatlers has served as the nation’s president and as a parliamentarian for over 10 years and is noted for having devoted himself to the political reform of his country. Even after leaving the political arena, he has represented Latvia at international conferences and authored an autobiography, remaining one of his country’s most influential figures.
  During his first visit to Korea, Zatlers is expected to deepen his understanding of the political situation in Korea and the region as a whole, while promoting friendship, cooperation, and human networks between the two nations. He will visit diplomatic and security-related institutions and participate in cultural tours. He will also attend various events marking Hangeul Day, October 9, and will give a lecture on Latvia at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. Zatlers’ visit will add to Korea’s diplomatic potential in his country and contribute to strengthening the bonds between both sides.
