This year’s participants in the forum, which was first launched in 2018, were Chinese students currently pursuing masters or doctoral courses in Korea who play leading roles in the Chinese student community. The forum was designed to promote positive understanding and accurate knowledge of Korea, as well as to foster closer relations between the visiting students and their host country. The 100 members formally gathered for the first time on April 15. Before going to Jeju Island, they paid visits to the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and areas of urban redevelopment in and around Makercity Sewoon. They also attended a special lecture on Korea-China relations and Korean society.

They visited the Office of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and attended a lecture entitled “History, Culture and Economy of Jeju” presented by Kim Soung-eun, Ambassador for International Relations in Jeju. They also cleaned Seogwipo, helping to beautify the local community.
