‘Koreana’ Autumn Issue Published
The BTS Phenomenon:
A Multilayered Analysis of Its Significance

The recently-published autumn issue of Koreana, the quarterly comprehensive culture and arts magazine, sheds light on the seven-member global sensation BTS. The boy band has recently emerged as one of the hottest cultural icons, topping various charts and rankings in the music industry worldwide. Koreana analyzes the origin of BTS fever and the significance of the BTS phenomenon through the perspectives of diverse experts. The autumn issue also offers a look at film director Bong Joon-ho and his Palme d’Or prize from the Cannes Film Festival; introduces readers to Jang Sun-ja and her daughter Yang Geum-mi, master and apprentice, respectively, in crafting the traditional Korean headwear called gat; and reflects on the career of contemporary dancer Ahn Eun- mi as she celebrates the 30th anniversary of her debut.
