The Korea–Central Asia Cooperation Forum Secretariat was established to support the continuous and stable operation of the Korea–Central Asia Cooperation Forum, a regular multilateral consultative mechanism that has been held annually since 2007 to promote cooperation between the Republic of Korea and Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
Centered on the forum, the Secretariat seeks to expand substantive cooperation and strengthen future-oriented partnerships across a wide range of areas, including policy, the economy, culture, and youth exchange, while systematically building a foundation for shared prosperity between Korea and the Central Asian region.
Officially launched on July 10, 2017, the Secretariat is currently operated by the Korea Foundation. Through close cooperation with relevant government ministries and agencies, as well as partner institutions in Central Asian countries, the Secretariat works to enhance the effectiveness and implementation of Korea–Central Asia cooperation.
