Support for Korean Artists’ Participation
in the NGV Triennial
The KF supports Korean artists’ participation in the NGV Triennial as part of its efforts to promote exhibitions at overseas museums. The NGV Triennial is a large-scale international event featuring art from various genres and fields, including fine arts, architecture, fashion, and design. The triennial opened on December 19, 2020, and will continue through April 18, 2021. It is sponsored by the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne, Australia. The triennial displays Dialogue, one of the emblematic works of the recent eponymous series by Korean master painter Lee Ufan, well-known for his monochrome paintings, along with photographer Kim Sihyun’s Identification (ID) Photo Project, a unique ation of the modern-day portrait that displays photo identifications of 1,000 young adults.
It is hoped that the artists’ participation in this acclaimed exhibition will introduce Korean art not only to citizens of Melbourne but also to people throughout Australia, offering them an opportunity to experience the fresh imagination and creative aestheticism of Korean contemporary art.
