[Infographic]Hansik Brand Power Ranked 4th Globally
From August to September last year, the Korean Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Korean Food Promotion Institute surveyed overseas consumers of Korean food, or Hansik, polling 8,500 people in 17 major world cities.
The results showed that the brand power index of Korean cuisine ranked fourth with 64.6 points, after those of Japan, Italy, and China. Korean food earned its highest score in Ho Chi Minh City (82.3) and Jakarta (82.2), while faring relatively lower in Rome (46.1) and Rio de Janeiro (46.5). The index was also slightly higher among women (65.5) than men (63.8). By age group, the figure was the highest among people in their 30s (68.9) and lowest among those in their 50s (58.8), with the rates of those in their 20s (65.1) and 40s (64.1) being relatively high.
