“Smart Summer Camp: ASEAN”

From August 19 to 21, the ASEAN Culture House in Busan, operated by the KF, will offer the “Smart Summer Camp” program for elementary school students on summer vacation. For anyone planning to travel to Busan, the program will be a great opportunity to experience the culture of the ten ASEAN countries in one place.

Designed to promote a better understanding of the 10 ASEAN member states, the program includes interactive educational activities, games, and lectures. Applications will be accepted from July 25 via event-us.kr.

The children’s fun time will begin after they choose one of the four experiential categories: “Shall we create?,” “Shall we listen?,” “Shall we learn?,” and “Shall we play?” The program’s diverse activities include an environment-themed terrarium experience, titled “The Little ASEAN Sea in My Hand”; a lecture featuring a one-person play based on a time-honored fairytale from Kuching, the Malaysian city of cats; “Exceptionally Beautiful ASEAN,” a talk about environmental problems and solutions; and a mini-sports event featuring five traditional games from the ASEAN region. We hope that the young participants will enjoy their choice of activities and expand their interest in ASEAN culture.
