2022 Central Asian Culture Week in Seoul

2022 Central Asian Culture Week on October at Cheonggye Plaza in Seoul organized by KF Korea-Central Asia Cooperation Forum Secretariat.

Since 2019, the Korea-Central Asia Cooperation Forum Secretariat has introduced Central Asian culture to the Korean public every spring through the special event Central Asian Spring Festival–Nowruz in Seoul, in order to enhance understanding of Central Asia through a variety of cultural programs.
Unfortunately, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the event will be held in autumn filled with cultural content from Central Asian countries this year.

Under the theme “Better Together” to mark the 30th anniversary of Korea-Central Asia ties, the festival will present traditional and contemporary/fusion performing arts that introduce the past and present of Central Asia by individuals including Uzbek singer and YouTuber Sasha Lee and Kazakh singer-songwriter Yerbol Salykbayev.

In commemoration of the 30th anniversary of Korea-Central Asia relations this year, there will be held an exhibition of three contest-winning pieces of media art regarding Korea-Central Asia. Also, the “Life 4 Cuts” booth will allow visitors to have their photos taken while dressed in the traditional costumes of Central Asian countries. It will also serve Central Asian desserts & tea. Other programs include a booth for an online book concert and a Central Asia Quiz, etc. The pre-events will include the “Together Festival”, which is a Korea-Central Asia pop Contest, and TikTok challenges.
