Korea Tops Robot Density, Ranks Fourth in Robot Installations

The world’s top three most automated countries measured by robot density were Korea, Singapore, and Germany, according to the World Robotics 2023 report presented by the International Federation of Robotics (IFR).

As of 2022, Korea’s robot density was 1,012 robots per 10,000 employees and had increased by an average annual growth of 6 percent since 2017. Singapore’s robot density was 730 units, followed by Germany (415 units), Japan (397 units), and China (392 units). The global average robot density was 151 robots per 10,000 employees; average units for Asia was 168, with 208 units for the European Union and 188 units for North America.

China ranked first in industrial robot installation with 290,258 units, followed by Japan (50,413 units), the United States (39,576 units), Korea (31,716 units), and Germany (25,636 units)
