By the Way, What Do You Like?

There are times when a sense of lethargy seems to take over me. Sometimes, socializing with people around me energizes me, but at other times I feel drained by it. When this happens, I perfect the lighting in my cozy room and pick up a pencil, which somehow feels better in my hand than any other writing tool does. As I continue to scribble, my scattered thoughts begin to settle. If and when my self-esteem is lowered by comparing myself to others, I focus entirely on myself while in my favorite space until my mood improves.

The author of By the Way, What Do You Like? never misses an opportunity to write down the “good” yet fleeting moments of her daily life. She says that when she begins to write in her little notebook, her surroundings seem to become much more beautiful. I recommend this book to those who do not want to waste the little time they are able to spare in their daily lives.
