[Review] ACH Cooks Up Vietnamese Culinary Experience

The ASEAN Culture House hosted a mouthwatering event introducing the food of Vietnam at its ACH Hall on January 6. Entitled “Explore and Taste Vietnam with Mrs. Tran Thi Lan Hinh, Wife of Vietnam’s Ambassador to Korea,” the program was the second project the ACH has offered in cooperation with the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea, following the Salt of the Jungle exhibition held in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of Korea-Vietnam diplomatic relations. The day’s program consisted of Vietnamese cooking demonstrations, tastings, and finally a cooking class.
Mrs. Tran Thi Lan Hinh and five other wives of diplomats at the Vietnam Embassy first showed a crowd of 220 salivating spectators how to make a variety of indigenous Vietnamese dishes. The demonstration was followed by a tasting session, where those in attendance were offered the chance to enjoy the dishes, giving them a deeper—and delicious—understanding of the Southeast Asian country’s culinary culture. Twenty lucky participants who had applied in advance were afforded the opportunity to share a special cooking class with Mrs. Tran Thi Lan Hinh, further enriching their appreciation of Vietnamese cuisine.
