Korean Language and Culture Program for Diplomats
Overview
Under the Korean Language and Culture Learning Program for Diplomats, the Korea Foundation invites foreign diplomats and civil servants to Korea for intensive trainings on Korean language and culture to improve their Korean language proficiency to the level required for Korea-related work and to enhance their understanding of Korea.

Korean diplomatic missions abroad are eligible to apply for this program on behalf of foreign diplomats and civil servants in charge of international cooperation.
Length of Training
About 3 months (The training program is offered from March to May each year, but the period may vary.)
Number of Invited Diplomats
About 40 participants/ year
Support Details
- 01 Round-trip airfare (shortest route / economy class)
- 02 Monthly stipend: 1.2 million Korean won
- 03 Tuition (paid directly to training institutions)
- 04 Health insurance (accidents and medical loss insurance by Korean insurance companies)

05 Accommodation (Studio apartment-style, single-occupancy dormitory run by training institutions)
* Please note that family members are not allowed to accompany participants.
Program Schedule
- Online submission of recommendations (apply.kf.or.kr)
- From early October until the end of November of the year preceding the program year
- Screening of Applications
- December of the year preceding the program year
- Announcement of Screening Results (via e-mail)
- January of the program year
- Preparation and execution of training program
- February to May of the program year
