[Graduate Studies Fellowship for Foreign Students in Korea] Program Objective This program is designed to foster a young generation of Korean Studies researchers from regions where domestic Korean Studies programs are not yet well-developed, and from where it is desirable for them to be given opportunities for study/research in Korea.(Researchers from Asia, Eastern Europe, and Latin America will be given priority.) To achieve this goal, the program assists graduate students who are majoring in Korean Studies with scholarships for their coursework and/or research. Eligibility Applicants must be M.A. or Ph.D. candidates majoring in Korean Studies and enrolled at one of Korea’s universities, or they must have a certificate of admission from a Korean university. Applicants will be expected to show sufficient ability to use Korean-language resources in their study and research. This ability should be stipulated in the applicant's cover letter and a language ability assessment form should be submitted (using the Foundation’s form), in which an adviser or language instructor attests to the student's Korean language ability.
