Prof. José Regidor García, Rector of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will visit Korea from June 13 to 19, 2009 by invitation of the Korea Foundation.

The University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) is located on the Spanish territory of Gran Canaria (Canary Islands). As the largest university in the Canary Islands, it currently has around 25,000 students enrolled in 54 undergraduate degrees. There are also more than 1,500 lecturers at the ULPGC carrying out research work under the auspices of the University’s 161 research groups.
During his stay, Prof. José Regidor García will meet with Presidents of Seoul National University, Chosun University, Mokpo University, Kyung Hee University, Korea Maritime Institute, and the Korean Association of Hispanic Studies to discuss ways to promote understanding and academic cooperation between Korea and Spain. He will also get a chance to visit the National Museum of Korea, Changdeukgung Palace, the National Maritime Museum, NAMJUNBAIK Art Center and cultural and historic sites in the Mokpo and Jeonju areas.
