Dr. Nguyen Van Nam, rector of National Economics University in Vietnam, will visit Korea from December 12 to 17 by invitation of the Korea Foundation.

Dr. Nam is rector of the National Economics University which specializes in economics, management and finance. Dr. Nguyen Van Thang, Director of the Asia Pacific Institute of Management, will accompany Dr. Nam to Korea. Dr. Nam, whose term of office extends until 2013, is highly expected to contribute to active cooperation with faculty and student exchanges between universities in Vietnam, including joint research projects.

National Economics University was established in 1956 and it is one of the top public universities specializing in economics. Economic officials in Vietnam are mostly from this university. The Asia Pacific Institute of Management opened by the National Economics University in June 2010 has been promoting active exchanges by twinning with Koreans’ major universities.

During his stay, Dr. Nam will meet with counterparts at Kyung Hee University, Seoul National University, Hanyang University, Asean-Korea Centre, the Korea Foundation, KOICA and Mokpo National University, etc. He will also visit the National Museum of Korea, N-Seoul Tower, Changdeokgung Palace, National Maritime Museum (Mokpo), and attend a NANTA Performance for a first-hand opportunity to appreciate Korea’s past and present.
